This website

Filee Wiki publishes independent documentation. It does not accept file uploads, run file conversions, require user accounts, or process purchases. The guide filter works in your browser, and we do not send the text you type into it to analytics.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides readers open, which sections they read, their approximate reading depth and time, and whether they follow official sources or share a guide. Analytics is enabled by default when the Google tag is configured. We do not display an analytics consent popup. Google Analytics can use browser cookies and process technical information such as device and browser characteristics and network information. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization are set to denied in our tag configuration.

A small session-storage record can carry a guide selection and reading-exit summary to the next page, so navigating does not delay the link. It contains fixed guide/section identifiers and reading counters, without document contents or typed search text.

Our custom events use a limited set of guide identifiers, section identifiers, step order, reading-depth milestones and share methods. We send page addresses without arbitrary query strings or fragments. We do not intentionally send document contents, filenames, typed search text, emails or personal account identifiers through custom events. Google describes its handling of data at How Google uses information from sites or apps.

You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser, use browser tracking controls, or consult Google's Analytics opt-out information. Blocking analytics does not prevent you from reading our guides.

Hosting and correspondence

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process technical request information to deliver and protect the site. If you email us about a correction, your email service and ours process the message and address needed to respond. Send only information you are comfortable sharing for that purpose. We do not need your original private document to correct a guide.

Links and the desktop application

Official project links and other outside sites have their own privacy practices. Filee's desktop privacy policy is separate from this website. The project README says conversions remain on your computer, with connections for update checks, engine downloads and links you open. Our website's use of analytics does not describe telemetry inside the desktop app.
